EnglishI’m feeling totally inspired by this amazing 75 minutes DIY documentary film on new art made at NOVA Contemporary Culture event! I love love love it and have absolutely to share it with you!!
You’ll see many young artists using many different means and approaches.
From common tape to non sticky flagging tape (I didn’t know this kind of tape,amazing neon and bright colors!), then paint, threads, Poscas, 3D animations, fabric, sounds, lights, ingenius mechanisms…
Something for open minded creatives that is really worth seeing guys!
I fully re-charged the batteries with this, and I’m having a m.o.u.n.t.a.i.n. of ideas and things to try floating in my head!
A great sensation! And it makes me also think about the fact that…
Sometimes the piece of art is the process itself.
So, take some time and enjoy this film (there are also pieces of short interviews made to the various artists).
One of my fav are the works with tape/flagging tape!!

ItalianoUna valanga di ispirazione mi ha presa in pieno con questi 75 minuti di documentario film DIY sulla nuova arte! Lo amo lo amo lo amo e dovevo assolutamente farvelo vedere!!
Vedrete tanti giovani artisti e un sacco di materiali e approcci differenti.
Dal comune nastro adesivo al non adesivo “Flagging tape” (non lo conoscevo, colori neon e brillanti fantastici!), poi pittura, fili, Uniposca, animazione 3D, stoffa, suoni, luci, meccanismi ingegnosi…
Qualcosa per creativi dalla mente aperta che vale davvero la pena di vedere!
Mi sono completamente ricaricata le batterie con questo video, e ho una m.o.n.t.a.g.n.a. di idee che mi fluttuano in mente.
E’ una sensazione speciale. E mi fa anche pensare al fatto che…
A volte l’opera d’arte è il processo stesso.
Prendetevi un pò di tempo e gustatevi questo film (ci sono anche dei pezzi di brevi interviste fatte agli artisti).
Uno dei miei preferiti è il lavoro con il nastro adesivo e il flaggin tape!!

I’m always charmed by these kind of customizations on ceramic and porcelain. Impossible don’t love them.
In this case they’re realized applying decals from original illustrations of the artist, Nancy Mungcal from Los Angeles.
The hard part here is also find the right combination between decals and plates, it’s like a collage work.
Nancy also creates other beautiful objects from her drawings, such as this lovely dish-tea towel.
Love the packaging too, so tidy and cute.
She works under the name of Pretty Little Thieves and on her on line shop you can find also some little things for small budgets such as these adorable pins.

Rimango sempre rapita da questo tipo di personalizzazione su ceramiche e porcellane. Come si fa a non amarle?
In questo caso sono state realizzate applicando dei decals (decalcomanie) ricavate da illustrazioni originali dell’artista, Nancy Mungcal da Los Angeles.
La parte difficile qui è trovare al giusta conbinazione tra le decalcomanie e i diversi piatti, in un mix di gusto e fantasia, come in un collage.
Nancy utilizzando i suoi disegni crea anche altri bellissimi oggetti, come questa tovaglietta da colazion/canovaccio.
Mi paice molto anche com’è stato confezionato, davvero curato e carino.
Lavora col nome di Pretty Little Thieves e nel suo on line shop potete trovare anche piccoli oggeti per piccoli budget come queste bellissime spilline.

In these days I discovered these adorable wood connected collection of necklaces made with little pieces of twigs. Cut, hand painted and mounted on chains.
I love the result. Simple and natural materials enriched with bright colors.
The place where I found them is a brand new Etsy shop (only 1 month old) called Marukiko and the owner and creator is Lovisa Lindstrom from London, England.
It would be wonderful to see also other creations such as bracelets, brooches, rings, etc made with this same style.
I already know I’d love them!

In questi giorni ho scoperto questa adorabile collezione wood connected fatta con piccoli pezzi di ramoscelli di legno. Tagliati dipinti a mano e montati su catenine.
Il risultato mi piace davvero molto. Materiali semplici e naturali arricchiti da colori brillanti.
Il posto in cui li ho trovati è un negozio su Etsy fresco fresco di apertura (ha solo un mese di vita) chiamato Marukiko e l’artigiana e proprietaria è Lovisa Lindstrom da Londra, Inghilterra.
Sarebbe fantastico vedere anche altre creazioni come bracciali, spille, anelli, ecc realizzate con questo stesso stile.
Già so che li adorerei!

It’s mostly a vintage shop but I found in it these repurposed ties and immediately loved them.

- EGO + ECO is a project by Due Mani Non Bastano.
This is when the handmade come with a touch of design and extra ideas.
Wonderful the idea of the placemats sets that can be matched creating a “More Bikes and Less Cars” statement (and many other combinations).
And wonderful the idea to show them together with all these imaginative objects that reminds the kitchen and the lunch time using cardboard.
The ingenious and creative minds behind the Due Mani Non Bastano brand are Nicolò Bottarelli, Ilaria Faccioli and Davide Longaretti from Italy (thanks to Mafa at Pinkrain to have linked them to me).

Questo accade quando l’handmade si lascia contaminare da un tocco di design e di extra idee.
Fantastica l’idea dei set di tovagliette che possono essere abbinati creando affermazioni come “Più Bici e Meno Macchine” (e molte altre).
E fantastica l’idea di presentarle assieme a questi oggetti immaginari che riportano all’ambiente della cucina e al momento del pranzo realizzati utilizzando del cartone grezzo.

Oh&Ah. When I found these works I have literally gone crazy.
First I burst for the love and then I have resurrected to continue to admire them, one by one.
There’s no words to describe how much love, cuteness, beauty, originality and inspiration these mix of products, materials and styles, they are able to emanate.
Oh&Ah are a group of 5 designer from Malaysia, passionate about art, design and life and inspired by Zakka and nature.
They say they create Unexpectation & Satisfaction!
“We make+design+collect delightful, eccentric everyday objects, like fashion accessories, paper goods, stationery, table/home decor, toys, jewellery, prints, t-shirts and some other silly things in between.”
They have a lovely presence online; a beautiful website – that you have to absolutely visit, an online shop, another shop on Etsy, a blog, a Facebook page.
They also have physical studio/store in Malaysia where they create and sell these wonderful works.

When I saw this handmade ceramic and the amazing 3D background from HOTO (a small pottery studio located in Buenos Aires, Argentina), I had a big smile on face and I was all excited: how nice!
The plate is amazing. Inside it the artist has hand painted the Little Red Riding Hood tale, in 4 lovely sequences.
Then these photos made me instantly fall in love.
They had the idea to bring the story out of the plate and to create a themed three-dimensional background.
Absolutely perfect to enrich the presentation of the work and have fabulous photos.

Can’t wait to see more of their work…

Quando ho visto questa ceramica artigianale e il fantastico sfondo 3D di HOTO (un piccolo studio di ceramiche di Buenos Aires, Argetnina), mi è venuto un grande sorriso ed ero tutta eccitata: ma che carino!
Il piatto è fantastico. All’interno l’artista ha dipinto la favola di Cappuccetto Rosso in 4 adorabili sequenze.
E poi le foto… mi hanno fatto subito innamorare.
Hanno avuto l’idea di portare la storia fuori dal piatto e di creare uno sfondo tridimensionale a tema.
Assolutamente perfetto per arricchire la presentazione del lavoro e avere un risultato finale fantastico nelle foto.

These illustrated characters are adorable. A stylized design but a special attention to small details.
Look at the little gun in the “Questa è una rapina/This is a rapine” illustration!
This is Lastè Designs by Silvia Pavarini, a passionate graphic designer and illustrator from Italy.
To create her works she likes to mix various techniques such as digital with hand-drawn. Pencils and crayons lines are visible also in the final versions.
Silvia’s illustration are really fancy and funny.
I can imagine them almost on anything: t-shirts, notebooks, brooches, trays, breakfast tablecloths, dishes, tote bags…
They would be perfect also for telling a story.

Questi piccoli personaggi illustrati sono carinissimi. Un design stilizzato ma con un’attenzione speciale per i piccoli dettagli. Guardate la pistolina mignon di “Questa è una rapina”!

How many new wonders you can discover every day, and how many times you can end up falling in love with them.
It’s what happened to me with these hand-made jewelry of porcelain.
These creations come from the hands of a duo Abby Seymour and Katherine Wheeler in Melbourne, Australia. Together they are Golden Ink.
The work that’s behind an art object like this really comes from years of study, experimentation, creation. Often, only artists are able to understand this, and so it’s true value.
The research of the shape, the clean design with irregular lines, the hand-drawn details, the shade of colors. It’s a great job.
And now… get this!
I wanted to end the post with another rain of wonders: yellow, white and black.

Quante nuove meraviglie si possono scoprire ogni giorno, e quante volte si può finire per innamorarsene.

Il lavoro che sta dietro ad un oggetto d’arte come questo viene da anni di studio, sperimentazione, creazione. Spesso solo gli artisti sono in grado di capirlo, e di capire così anche il loro vero valore.
La ricerca della forma, il design pulito con linee irregolari, i dettagli disegnati a mano, la tonalità dei colori scelti. E’ un gran lavoro.
