EnglishGuys, if you liked my post about Valériane Leblond and the works I shared on the Facebook IB page some time ago by Kirsty Elson Designs, I think you’ll love the style of this italian artist: Angela Fattori.
And, again, houses! Sometimes I think it’s becoming a mania. Can’t resist their sweetness and all the meanings that they contain!
Angela has recently created a public Facebook page called A Volte Sogno (that means “Sometimes I dream”).
What do you think about her works?
I love them, they have a touch of “dream”.
If I were you I’d keep an eye on her :)

E di nuovo, case! Sta diventando una mania. Non resisto alla dolcezza di queste forme e dei tanti significati che racchiudono.
Angela ha da poco aperto una pagina Facebook chiamata A Volte Sogno.
Che ne pensate dei suoi lavori?
Io li trovo meravigliosi, sempre con un tocco di “sogno”.

EnglishAnd ta-daaaa! You Are Awesome: 21 Crafts to Make You Happy, a new crafty book review for you!
When I received this book (few weeks ago) I’ve been SO happy – I didn’t know it – it’s a new publication and comes from Cicada Books, a lovely publishing company based in United Kingdom.
They produces books about art, design, craft and visual ideas since 2009.
The book has been written by Abbey Hendrickson, the freelance artist/crafter behind Aesthetic Outburst blog.
It has 80 pages, a super lovely thick hardcover and contains 21 crafty projects with instructions and templates.
My opinion on the book:
I am a very visual type when it comes to craft and handmade things so my first impression is intimately linked to the aesthetics of the book, that in this case is adorable!
The choice of the cover (both graphically and for the particularly thick hardcover), the quality of the photos, the use of an orange fluo color inside (love it!), the choiche to add an hand-written and hand-drawn touch with adorable sketches to better illustrate the projects, the fact itself that projects are all lovely, easy to do and funny!
I only found one flaw: 21 projects on a lovely book like this are too few! I would have liked to have browsed at least a hundred! ;)
My final verdict is… I LOVE this book!
I’m so happy to have it in my crafty book collection!

Quando ho ricevuto questo libro (poche settimane fa) ero troppo felice – non lo conoscevo – è una nuova pubblicazione e viene da Cicada Books, una casa editrice che ha base in Inghilterra.
Produce libri su arte, design, craft e idee visive dal 2009.
Il libro è stato scritto da Abbey Hendrickson, l’ artist/crafter che c’è dietro al blog Aesthetic Outburst.
Ha 80 pagine, una copertina carinissima rigida in un cartoncino molto spesso e contiene 21 progetti creativi/fai-da-te con istruzioni e templates.
La mia opinione sul libro:
Sono un tipo molto ‘visivo’ quando si tratta di craft e di cose handmade, perciò la mia prima impressione è intimamente legata all’estetica del libro che, in questo caso, è adorabile!
La scelta della copertina (sia graficamente che per il materiale, un cartoncino particolarmente spesso), la qualità delle foto, l’uso di un colore arancio fluo all’interno (lo amo!), la scelta di aggiungere un tocco di scritto-a-mano e disegnato-a-mano con carinissimi sketches per meglio illustrare i progetti, il fatto stesso che i progetti sono tutti molto carini, facili e divertenti!
Ho trovato una sola pecca: in un libro così bello 21 progetti sono troppo pochi! Mi sarebbe piaciuto averne sfogliati almeno un centinaio! ;)
Il mio verdetto finale è… AMO questo libro!
Sono felicissima di averlo nella mia collezione di libri sull’handmade e il DIY!

EnglishIn these days I’m discovering lot of new amazing artists – and so new streams of fresh inspiration! The last two are both from Croatia!
One has been featured on the Imaginative Bloom Facebook page few days ago (in case you missed it check here: Marina Marinski) and the second happy find is landing right now on IB… it’s Ojo Magico!
Be sure to follow Ojo Magico on Facebook too and have fun on her colorful page.
Many materials including wood, fabric and ceramic and many many interesting designs to browse!
Can’t stop browsing through all these lovely works.
Love when a style comes from a mix of cultures and traditions.
Ojo Magico is absolutely another great discovery that I’m happy to add to the section of the best handmade from around the world: IB APPROVED! :))
ItalianoIn questi giorni sto scoprendo un sacco di nuovi fantastici artisti – e via, fiumi di nuova ispirazione scorrono in IB! Gli ultimi due vengono entrambi dalla Croazia!
Uno è stato “featurizzato” nella pagina Facebook di Imaginative Bloom qualche giorno fa (se ve lo siete persi, guardate qui: Marina Marinski) e la seconda scoperta felice sta atterrando or ora in IB… è Ojo Magico!

Lavora con tanti materiali incluso il legno, la stoffa e la ceramica e ci sono un sacco di bei design su cui perdersi.
Io credo di essermi sfogliata tutti gli album.
Adoro quando uno stile proviene da un mix di altri stili, culture e tradizioni differenti.
Ojo Magico è sicuramente un’altra bellissima scoperta che sono felice di aggiungere alla sezione che raccoglie il miglior handmade dal mondo: IB APPROVED! :))

My special find for the IB blog this week is Valériane Leblond with her painted wooden objects, another super inspiring discovery that you can’t miss!
Lately I’ve been seeing lot of artists working with wood and many of them seem to feel an unconditional love for tiny houses – moreover how can you not be?
Among them, Kirsty Elson Designs. If you still do not know her, you absolutely have to visit the link.
I can’t sum up in words the beauty and cuteness of these works and renew my endless love for houses, in any form.

EnglishYou said yes, and here it is! The first of the two books’ reviews I told you about.
Today it’s the turn of “We make Dolls“, a craft book entirely dedicated to dollmakers with their secrets & patterns to create your own creatures, learn and get inspired.
I love dolls and stuffed things (the one I used for this photo it’s a little creature I did a while ago) so it’s always a pleasure for me to see works like these.
The book has 160 pages introduced by Jenny Doh. It’s divided into 10 sections and each one introduces a different artist. Each artist shows some of her creations for a total of 23 projects, explained with step by step tutorials, images and templates.
 
My opinion on the book:
I must say that I already knew the most of the artists I saw inside and, if you’re passionate about dolls and stuffed creatures and follow their makers for long time like me, you also probably know them already.
In this case, if you had an idea to buy the book to discover artists and creations you’ve never seen before, maybe this is not the book you’re looking for.
But, if you are searching something that can inspire and guide you through tidy step by step instructions to learn how to make dolls and stuffed toys by yourself, then this can surely be a beautiful book to have – many lovely projects in different styles, materials and techniques (among other, needle-felting and embroidery).
Plus there is a section that I personally always find interesting, that’s all about “Getting Started” with all the right tools, the different types of hand stitches, professional tips, etc.

Oggi è il turno di “We Make Dolls“, un libro interamente dedicato ai dollmakers (letteralmente “creatori di bambole”) coi loro segreti e le loro pattern per poter creare anche voi le vostre creature, imparare e trarre ispirazione.
Amo questo tipo di bambole e cose imbottite (quella che ho usato per questa foto è una piccola creatura che ho fatto un po’ di tempo fa), quindi è sempre un piacere per me vedere lavori come questi.
Il libro ha 160 pagine con un introduzione di Jenny Doh . E’ diviso in 10 sezioni e ognuna introduce un artista differente. Ogni artista mostra alcune delle sue creazioni per un totale di 23 progetti, spiegati con tutorials passo passo, immagini e template per ricavare le sagome da tagliare.
La mia opinione sul libro:
Devo dire che la gran parte degli artisti che ho visto nel libro non mi erano nuovi e, se siete appassionati di bambole e personaggini imbottiti e seguite i loro creatori da un bel po’ di tempo come me, è molto possibile che anche voi li conosciate già.
Se avevate quindi idea di acquistare il libro per scoprire artisti e creazioni mai viste prima, probabilmente questo non è il libro che state cercando.
Ma, se state cercando qualcosa che possa guidarvi attraverso istruzioni passo passo chiare per imparare a fare da voi questo tipo di oggetti, allora questo può sicuramente essere un ottimo acquisto – ci sono molti bei progetti realizzati in stili, materiali e tecniche differenti (tra le varie l’infeltrimento ad ago e il ricamo).
In più c’è una sezione che personalmente trovo sempre interessante, che è dedicata al “come iniziare” (Getting Started) dove si parla degli strumenti giusti, dei differenti tipi di punti fatti a mano, vari suggerimenti professionali, etc.
Il tutto è in lingua Inglese.

It’s probably for this that the ceramic works by Sarah Saunders immediately caught my heart.
I recently discovered her Facebook page… but I’m already hoping that she will soon make many other!! :)

EnglishFinally, with a little bit of emotion, I can share it with you!
I’ve been invited as blogger at the “Meet The Blogger“ event by Casa Facile Italian magazine at Abilmente fiera, the famous international fair of manual creativity that takes palce every year in Vicenza, Italy.
Needless to say that it’s an honor for me (and an unexpected surprise!) to have been chosen to talk about my personal experience together with other great bloggers.
As you can see from the image above and from the magazine, the event will take place on October 20; there will be some interesting workshops (how to improve the graphic aspect of your blog, how and what to write, photography and styling, how to use social networks to valorise your blog, etc) and the bloggers invited will talk about their own experience.
Those who know me also know how I’m shy, so for me this will be a challenge.
Well… hope not to make too many gaffes! :D
To join the event you have to subscribe – although it seems that all the seats are sold out in 48 hours!!!
But don’t give up! As the event on Facebook says, after the “Meet the Blogger” moment in the morning, <<in the afternoon (3 P.M. at stand 181, tent F) we will be at the CasaFacile stand to keep on chatting and sharing experiences and ideas – no limits of seats!
Cant wait to meet in person the people that until now I knew only virtually.

Sono stata invitata come blogger all’evento “Meet The Blogger“ organizzato dalla rivista Casa Facile all’interno di Abilmente fiera, la famosa Mostra-atelier Internazionale della Manualità Creativa, che si svolge ogni anno a Vicenza!
Inutile dire che per me è un onore (e una sorpresa totalmente inaspettata!) essere stata scelta per parlare della mia personale esperienza assieme ad altre bravissime blogger che si sono affermate nel web; molte sono già riuscite a far diventare la loro passione un lavoro.
Come potete leggere dal poster e come annunciato nel numero di Ottobre della rivista, il tutto si svolgerà sabato 20, e sarà composto di vari momenti, tra cui una serie di interessanti workshop e gli interventi dei blogger invitati.
Chi mi conosce sa quanto io sia timida, perciò per me questa sarà una bella sfida.
Che dire… speriamo di non fare troppe gaffes! :D
Per partecipare all’ evento ci si deve iscrivere – anche se a quanto pare i posti si sono esauriti nel giro di 48 ore!!

Looking at these works has been like an extra injection of enthusiasm to work on new ideas!
I’m happy to introduce you the wonderful ceramic world of Makoto Kagoshima, made of lovely sculptures, tiny creatures and imaginative accessories for the home.
I think it’s always amazing when an artist is able to incorporate a little bit of his culture on his creations and rework it into something totally new, original and creative like this.

Guardare questi lavori è stato come ricevere un’iniezione extra di entusiasmo per lavorare su nuove idee!
Sono felice di condividere il meraviglioso mondo di ceramiche di Makoto Kagoshima, fatto di adorabili sculture, piccole creature e accessori per la casa.
Trovo che sia sempre fantastico quando un artista è capace di incorporare un po’ della sua cultura nelle sue creazioni e rielaborarla in qualcosa di totalmente nuovo, originale e creativo come questo.
