I found these amazing houses by Lisa Kesler and couldn’t resist from writing an article about them.
They’re made out of wood and then painted on all four sides, each one printed with a different original image from one of her hand-carved linoleum blocks. They’re signed on the bottom and varnished, and have a notch cut into the back for hanging.
Lisa in on Etsy as Cornflower Press and has a facebook fan page too.
Those hand-carved blocks must be enough labourious to do.
Some time ago I tried to carve a linoleum too, but I had some troubles with the carving tools. Probably I should spend a little more for a higher quality, because my cheap instruments don’t seem to cut so well. And certainly, I also need to practice. I suppose I can’t give all the blame to the tools! yah. Poor scapegoats.
Do you have some successful or tragicomic experience of carving to share? :)

Ho trovato queste fantastiche casette di Lisa Kesler e non ho potuto resistere dal farci subito un articoletto.
Sono di legno e dipinte in tutti i lati, ognuno stampato con una differente ed originale immagine da uno dei suoi blocchi di linoleum incisi a mano. Sono firmate sul fondo e verniciate, e hanno un incavo sul retro per poter essere anche appese.

Questi blocchi devono esser stati laboriosi da incidere.
Un pò di tempo fa ho provato anche io ad incidere nel linoleum, ma ho avuto qualceh difficoltà con gli strumenti. Probabilmente avrei dovuto spendere un pò di più per averli di una qualità migliore, perchè i miei strumentini economici non sembravano tagliare molto bene. Sicuramente ho anche bisogno di far pratica. Non diamo tutta la colpa agli strumenti! Poveri capri espiatori.

Heather Moore is the illustrator and designer that’s behind Skinny laminx. She lives in Cape Town, South Africa. Her beautiful patterns are already around the world, and her successful Etsy shop testifies it.
Heather made illustrations for various magazines and has had some interesting commissions (such as for her pincushion protea cutout design, that has been laser-etched onto the beautiful parfum solide containers from Frazer Parfum, now available in Harrods and at Anthropologie). She also likes to cut things from paper and adhesive vinyl.

From Cleveland, Ohio, Scott Radke is an artist who creates individual characters out of clay and found objects.
Well, it is clear that Scott is already a successful artist, you just need to take a look to the ‘Info‘ page of his site to have an idea of how many exhibitions, publications and also collaborations on movies and videos he has had.
I’ve read also about a contribution with marionettes for small scene in ‘Alice in Wonderland‘ movie directed by Tim Burton (2010). His talent is unquestionable.
Loving sculpture, I was immediately struck by his work. It doesn’t need words.
Other spaces where you can get in contact with his works are the blog, facebook, and flickr.
I’d love to see an exhibition of Scott live, one day. It should be amazing!

Beh, è chiaro che Scott è già un artista di successo, basta dare un’occhiata alla pagina ‘Info‘ del suo sito per avere un’idea di quante mostre, pubblicazioni e collaborazioni anche in film e video, abbia avuto.

I’m always impressed from the amount of things and shapes that can be done with a material.
These creations are made with wood and paint by AJ Fosik, an artist from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I found he on Facebook and Flickr. Amazing works!

I found these super lovely ceramics surfing aorund my collection of favourite sites and web spaces. They come from the blog of Nathalie Choux and Lili Scratchy. I love ceramic as material to work with (yes I know, maybe it’s the tenth time I say it, but I love toooo much materials and this is of my many favs!) and these creations are absolutely wonderful.
I didn’t find lots of other informations about them but I suggest to check their blog to find other super cool works. I’m waiting for their shop is full of things to buy!

Ho trovato queste ceramiche bellissime mentre girovagavo tra i miei siti e spazi web preferiti. Vengono dal blog di Nathalie Choux e Lili Scratchy. Io amo la ceramica come materiale con cui lavorare (si lo so, probabilmente ve l’ho detto una decina di volte almeno, ma amo talmente tanti materiali… e uno dei miei preferiti è questo!) e queste creazioni sono assolutamente adorabili.
Non ho trovato moltissime info su di loro ma vi suggerisco di andare nel blog a vedere gli altri lavori, uno più bello dell’altro. Attendo che riempiano il loro negozietto, che al momento è vuoto, con un pò bel di cose da acquistare.

I love all little details and all characters are so ‘fairy’. They remind to woodland’s stories. Awww absolutely fantastic works. I definitely suggest to all the lovers of this kind of handworks to often visit her Etsy shop!
